Shortcode in footer theme option field

I've previously resolved this issue with you but cannot for the life of me find the correspondance. Sorry.

The problem was that I have an instagram shortcode inserted in the theme options right footer field. Apparently this is not allowed by envato but I was given a solution by you to alter the footer.php to allow shortcodes in the footer fields.

If you could provide me with this workaround once again it will at least be documented in this support post and I will be sure to keep it on hand as well. Thanks!

    I bookmarked this support thread for future reference but cannot access it anymore. Probably because you are migrating to a new support system.
    Any chance of still finding and reading this support thread?

    Thanks
    Simon

    Hi Sich,

    If you can login to the new support system with the same account, you'll still have access to the old forum too. You can login here:

    http://themewich.com/theme-support

    Then go to the old forum and you're still logged in. Otherwise, here's the info from the topic:

    Themeforest no longer allows html to be outputted in plain text areas due to cross server scripting issues. It was originally coded to allow html, but wouldn't be approved unless those fields were sanitized on output. :(

    Maybe I can find a better workaround, but in the mean time, you can add a copy of footer.php to your child theme and remove those filters. In your footer.php file, you can see lines that look like this:

    <?php echo do_shortcode( sanitize_text_field( $tw_options['footer-text-center'] ) ); ?>

    Change them to this:

    <?php echo do_shortcode( $tw_options['footer-text-center'] ); ?>

    Let me know if you need any additional assistance,

    Andre
