Hey guys,

First of all: I am still very happy with your theme!
I changed the theme quite some bit –> http://clausernst.com/ <–,
but there is one thing I just don't get by myself –>

Is it possible to have different thumbnail heights?
I attached a jpeg to illustrate what I would like to achieve...

Thanks!

I just realized that someone else was asking the same question here:
    http://support.themewich.com/discussions/bookcase-wordpress-theme/1090-non-uniform-grid

I really would love to implement that feature. If you point me in the right direction maybe I can even realize it myself. I just don't get where to find the height in the php's.. In the functions.php I guess?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

First step would be to edit the image size. You may want to remove the height cropping, this will only reduce the width of the image but keep it at it's original ratio, so there will be no actual cropping...

    add_image_size( 'portfoliosmall', 240, 155, true ); // Portfolio Small thumbnail

Remove the 155 height and use this instead...

    add_image_size( 'portfoliosmall', 240, '', true ); // Portfolio Small thumbnail

Then you'll need to create a custom Javascript function that detects the height to set that negative top margin as Andre suggested in that other thread. You'd want to set something up inside the changer() function that's in js/custom.js.php. This is the function that expands the thumbnails on click.

I should also note that after changing that image size, you would want to install and run the 'Regenerate Thumbnails' plugin to create these new cropped sizes.
